WHY USE PROFESSIONAL INSTALLERS?
The main products at PAPA'S FIREPLACE: fireplaces, stoves, and inserts, (whether they be wood, gas, or pellet), involve two things that make most do-it-your-self homeowners think twice - they involve combustion of fuels (FIRE), and cutting holes in your house. In doing this job we have seen some pretty scary things "other people" have done. Frankly folks, having your house filled with soot is the least of your worries. And that is not to say these problems were all caused by do-it-your-self homeowners. We've seen the work that some "company installers" have done. Incompetence is one thing. Flagrantly ignoring the manufacturer's instructions or the most basic of building codes is something else.
Unlike some other Connecticut hearth shops, PAPA'S FIREPLACE only uses professional installers, people who have spent most of their working lives (several have over 20 years of experience), installing these products. They are licensed, insured, have thousands of references. They charge $99 (we collect the money for them - we don't keep any of it), to come out to your home and figure out your job - including the labor, venting and any other work involved - and then they credit your job $50 of that when you do the project (so it actually costs you $49 to have someone who really knows what they're doing and is going to actually do the job, come to your home). Not a lot of money, but definitely a lot of peace of mind.
