Custom Fireplace Designs by Randal Papa

Some folks come into Papa's Fireplace, LLC knowing exactly what they want. That's great! But let's face it. Today's fireplaces choices are amazing. Much to the unhappiness of my mason friends, you no longer have to install something that costs thousands of dollars and basically sucks all the heat out of your house every time you use it. There are lots of options.

So many choices!

Do you want a wood burning model? OK. Will it be masonry style, something that can heat your whole home, or is price the biggest factor? What size?

How about gas? Will it be B-vent, direct vent or vent-free.

Don't forget there are also pellet fireplaces, electric fireplaces, and ethanol fireplaces, too!

Will your new fireplace be installed inside the home (interior chase), or outside (exterior chase)? Or, if it is a gas, electric or ethanol model, have you considered a cabinet mantel instead of all that construction?

How will you finish your fireplace? With floor to ceiling stone veneer? How about a mantel? Painted or stained? If it's to be stained, will it be in Oak, Cherry, Knotty Pine, or maybe something exotic?

If you want a mantel surround (different than a mantel shelf), you're going to need a facing and hearth extension on many models. Will it be granite, marble, onyx, travertine, slate, or maybe a combination of materials? How about a flat screen TV over it, or built-in cabinets on the sides?

Wouldn't It Be Nice!

Wouldn't it be nice if you could have someone come out to your home, see where you want your fireplace to go (or help with that decision, too!), talk with you for a while about your lifestyle, your décor, and your hopes and dreams? Then, that person would take everything into consideration and in a few days, come up with the perfect fireplace design for you, and draw you a sketch of how it will look, if you like.

That person should have years and years of experience designing fireplaces. He should know the features and benefits and dozens and dozens of different fireplace manufacturer's models. He should have a construction background so he knows about codes, clearances, bearing walls, and stuff like that. He should have a good imagination. He needs to be able to translate what he learns from talking to you and looking at your home, into to a fireplace that not only fits your home's décor, but fits your lifestyle as well.

The cost of this service is only $150.00 per hour. For customers outside of New Haven County, a $50.00 travel expense will be added. See more of Randal Papa's custom fireplace designs here:
